Durga Puja

Durga Puja is one of the most significant Hindu festivals, dedicated to the worship of Goddess Durga, the divine mother and warrior goddess who symbolizes strength, power, and the triumph of good over evil. Celebrated with immense devotion, Durga Puja marks the victory of Goddess Durga over the demon Mahishasura, signifying the destruction of evil forces and the establishment of righteousness.

Durga Puja is observed during the Sharad Navratri in the Hindu month of Ashwin (September–October), typically lasting ten days. The last five days—Shashthi, Saptami, Ashtami, Navami, and Dashami—are the most important, with grand rituals, prayers, and festivities. The festival concludes with Vijayadashami, marking the immersion (Visarjan) of Durga idols, symbolizing her return to Mount Kailash.
